FAQ's - Your Questions Answered

What if I don't really want a massage but like the idea of using essential oils?

I would need to first of all do a consultation to determine the oils we need to use, then prepare a cream or an oil base for you to use on your skin, in a burner or compress. I would give you a program to follow and arrange a revisit to establish progress and ongoing treatment. If at a later date you would like to change the method of treatment that is fine. There is a charge for these products dependant upon the ingredients and the size of product.

What do I prepare for a treatment?

Please wear old clothes, preferably dark in colour, essential oils can cause marks. Have a shower before the treatment, because the oils need to work in the skin and a shower or bath is not recommended for at least 6 hours if not longer. Don't wear make-up if you intend having a facial and be prepared not to wear any make-up for the rest of the day.

Are the treatments suitable for men?

Most definitely, men can benefit from all the treatments especially back massage and facials. I tend to call it face treatment for a man, please remember to be clean shaven for a face massage and do not wear after shave. If you are having a massage, wear suitable boxer shorts or swimming trunks for your modesty. Please note male clients will be given appointment times only when my husband is on the premises.

How often do I have to come for treatments?

This depends on your health, finances and time available. A regular appointment once every week, 2 weeks or even every month is ideal. It may be a good idea to use a prepared oil or cream in between these appointments, again depending on the above.

Are essential oils safe?

Essential oils are safe in the correct hands, some oils are hazardous in certain situations, this is why it is important to go to a qualified clinical aromatherapist. The quality of oils is also very important and I only use oils obtained from traceable sources, then I know they will not be adulterated. I buy my oils from either Penny Price or Tisserand and I do not use pre-made blends.

Can treatment work without having to give up the good things in life?

Unfortunately the good things in life such as fatty foods, smoking, lack of exercise are all bad for us and using essential oils or anything else isn't going to change that fact. So we have to be sensible and take responsibility for our own health.

What if I have been ill recently?

This is the another reason why the consultation is vital, if there is any doubt I will ask for you to get your doctors permission before starting any treatment. Remember to bring any medication with you at the first appointment. All information given is on the consultation is strictly private between Practitioner and the client and is subject to the Data Protection Act.

Can I have treatment at home?

Not normally, although exceptions can be made due to the mobility of the client or when the client books 4 hours treatments in a block.. Prices available on request.

Does it matter what time of day or time I make an appointment?

After an aromatherapy treatment particularly a full body massage it is possible to feel really tired and experience a headache, this is the release of toxins in the body. It always necessary to drink plenty of water after any of the treatments and rest if possible. So it is best to plan you day around the treatments.

Do you accept Credit and Debit Cards?

Yes we do including Chip and Pin.
